We made it. Good flight. polite but not gushing service. You get a choice of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. This is on the menus too. (Our non-vegetarian feature is...) After seeing to a rolling crate of live chickens in the traffic I am considering opt for the vegetarian.

Observations-
Delhi is shocking and peaceful all at once. 
Very long license plate numbers.
Hindustan Times is the newspaper of choice for our driver.
Important buildings get one big sign each. If you miss it you won't know what it is and it doesn't help to ask what was that big important buidling back there. There are a lot of them.
